If you only knew what you know now

If you only knew what you know now, you could’ve chosen better friends, good friends.

Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.
1 Corinthians 15:33 AMP

Maybe you told yourself you can save them and make them a better version of themselves. But no. Bad company is what corrupts good morals. And what you surround yourself with affects how you see things and think of things.

But it’s never too late to sever unhealthy ties. It’s time for you to move on and grow.

If you only knew what you know now, you could’ve made better choices when you had the chance.

But you’re here now. So there’s no use dwelling on the hurt and missed opportunities. Because if you want to move forward in life, you should decide to let go of the past.

Maybe no one told you, or perhaps you just did not take this wisdom to heart. That every decision you do today is never made in isolation. Because every decision you do today always ripples towards your future. So always think hard before you act. But if thinking hard is not enough, think harder.

It also helps to seek godly counsel. I don’t want to sound spiritual, but I am saying it as a matter of fact. There’s no getting around it. Maybe you can get good advice from well-meaning people, but they will end up hollow at the end of the day. In this short life, I have learned that the wisdom of the Lord surpasses every human understanding. So seek godly counsel when making a decision. Choose godly friends.

The way of the [arrogant] fool [who rejects God’s wisdom] is right in his own eyes,
But a wise and prudent man is he who listens to counsel.
Proverbs 12:15 AMP

If you only knew what you know now, you could’ve dreamed bigger and hoped better.

Because hope is to expect a future good regardless of your circumstance today. And with hope, you can see that all things will be well with you. But there’s no positive thinking or sheer optimism that can make you become the best you can be. Only God can make you the best version of you because God promised a future good for you a long time ago.

For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11 AMP

You cannot change your past. However, you can still change what is to happen in your life now. So hold onto the future and the hope that God has set for you.

Put your hope in the Lord.
