Let me breathe

These days, every time I wake up, I long for days at home. Where you can just go outside and feel the grass against your skin while your cats and dog roam around. You can see your goat on the other side too, happily chewing greens. And as the birds start their day, busily chirping somewhere behind the trees, you inhale the fresh morning air. Breathe in. Breathe out.

But no, you are here in the city far from home. And there are government-imposed health protocols you need to strictly follow.

This is how we look like every time we go out now.

I have to admit it’s quite challenging to distinguish people with their face masks and face shields. Not only that, but it’s also quite challenging to breathe in those too.

But I am looking forward to the time when all these things are over. When we can all see each other face to face, act like ‘normal’ social people, and finally feel the air against our faces.
