Have you been inside your confined space for too long that you don’t know how to go out anymore? It was as if you were way too comfortable being so alone and detached from anybody. But deep inside, you know, that you long for connection. One that makes you feel things. One that makes you believe and hope for a future again.
You must have considered going out again. But you are afraid. What are you afraid of?
My thoughts about the matter:
I have never been outside with people for three months, since the pandemic hit worldwide, and after the Philippine government imposed quarantine rules nationwide. Now that I can go out and can freely move about (but still need to follow social distancing protocols), I realized that I am becoming too comfortable by being distant with the rest of the physical world. And maybe, this is what others also feel, those who have been discouraged, hurt, and broken; those who decided to detach themselves from connections for so long. They tell themselves over and over again that they are better being alone.
We know that this is not what we really want. We are human. And humans will always long for that physical connection. We are not meant to live in isolation. We are a part of a community.
It’s time for all of us to go out.
If what this means is for you to love again, then I encourage you to love again.
If what this means is for you to begin again, then I encourage you to begin again.
Let’s find our reason to be out there and live the life God has set for us to live.
We don’t have to be brave but we do not need to be afraid anymore either. All we need is to trust God that all will be well for us.
Do not fear [anything], for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you; I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation].’
