It was too humid, with summer approaching. Thing was, my energy was drained even before I started the day. I had a lot of plans. I had them all prepared at the start of the week. But this particular day was way different than the others. I woke up late. I woke up tired. I woke up lazy.
I never wanted to move out of my bed but I don’t want to sleep either. So what I did was waste my hours on social media. It was the path of least resistance.
How many times did you find yourself in the same situation?
Deep inside, I felt guilty for betraying myself. I’ve been encouraging people to be productive, everyday. But here I am, doing the opposite.
I tried to understand why so I examined myself and realized this: I felt detached from a future. That’s why it was so easy to waste the hours because I was not looking forward for anything beyond the day.
And maybe, just maybe, that’s what you’re in too, detached from a future.
Productivity is a choice you have to do everyday. So today, I chose to salvage the remaining hours by doing something that will help me achieve the person I want to become. Finishing a book is one, continuing an online course is another. How about you?

I’d say, step out from that trance of movie binge-ing or mindlessly scrolling through your social media feeds. Decide to do something worthwhile today. Something that your future self will thank you for. There’s still time.
